Puppy Preschool is for canines under 4 months of age, while Obedience School is for those over 4 months old, and group classes begin every 8 weeks. Deb also offers Private Training on the weekends, as well as Professional Training, where your dog will live with Deb in her home for at least 2 weeks to be fully immersed in the program.

What is the Cost of Deb’s Dog Training?

  • 7-Week Group Class Program: $105
  • 1-Hour In-House Private Training Session: $75 + mileage (.50/mile)
  • Professional Training: $45/day, session length TBD

What Dog Training Experience does Deb Have?

With 40 years of experience in the dog world, Deb has worked with over 120 different breeds, mixed and purebred, with great success. She teaches owners all about canine behavior—how to communicate with their dogs, how to train the behaviors they want them to learn, and how to get rid of the unwanted behaviors. She competes in AKC Obedience, Agility, Earthdog & Lure Coursing.

Should I have My Dog Trained at Home or Professionally?

Either will work, but working with a professional can help you to stop a problem before it starts. It’s easier to create a behavior than it is to change one, which is why it’s important to fully understand the canine language when training a dog.

What Will I Need to Prepare for Dog Training?

You will need to bring the following to your training sessions:

  • 6-foot leather leash (canvas or soy will work) – no nylon leashes or body harnesses for training purposes
  • Soft treats or a favorite toy
  • Bait bag or fanny pack

Training collars are discussed after meeting the dog and owner to determine the dog’s energy level, size, and personality. Deb will also need to inspect the relationship between the dog and owner.

Safari Handling and Training: Conformation Training

What Training does Safari Handling and Training Offer?

Safari Handling and Training offers Conformation Show Training for you and your dog to train for competition. All breeds of dogs are accepted, and skill levels from beginner to advanced. If you have a new dog to train or an experienced show dog to fine tune, their classes offer a full experience.

They specialize in making your experience a positive interaction between you and your dog by instructing you with details of competition, and assist each handler in the journey to successful conformation training.

What Dog Training Experience does Safari Training Have?

Joe Caton and Kathy Caton-Musto are both past board members of the Central Ohio Kennel Club. Safari Training’s team is made up of many years of experience with judging, training, and handling show dogs in the past. Many dogs trained with Safari have gone on to become champions.

Should I have My Dog Trained at Home or Professionally?

Training your dog in a professional training center with a show-like environment is the only way to expose your dog to proper training for competition. Your dog should be comfortable with other dogs of all sizes, and the ring layout. Our ring is designed to mimic the dog show ring, with gates and mats included.

What Will I Need to Prepare for Dog Training?

Owners will need to bring the following to training:

  • A show lead for conformation (we can help guide you on which product is best)
  • Treats for rewarding dog with positive experience

Pet Behavior Associates: FUNdamental Behavior Training

What Training does Pet Behavior Associates Offer?

FUNdamental dog behavior training is a combined beginners’ course in obedience training and behavioral management. She specifically developed the FUNdamental behavior training course for dogs and puppies with the needs of pet owners in mind. It’s based upon current knowledge of dog behavior, learning, and motivation.

In the behavior training classes, you will learn how to properly train your dog or puppy to obey basic commands, like heel, sit, down, come, and stay. Additionally, you will learn how to use these commands in daily situations in order to have better control over your dog.

You’ll learn to teach your dog to be calmer, more manageable, and to solve problems like:

  • Jumping up
  • Running off
  • Destroying property
  • Pulling while on a leash

What is the Cost of Pet Behavior Associates Training?

Classes are taught over a 7-week course, which run on Monday nights at 6:30pm. The cost is $155.00, and is open to any dog who is at least 12 weeks of age and have had three vaccinations.

They also offer Off Leash Control classes for clients who wish to build foundational skills to train their dogs for off-leash and distance control. These classes begin on either 7:30 or 8:30pm, depending on course availability. Off Leash Control classes are priced at $90.00.

What Dog Training Experience does Pet Behavior Associates Have?

Annette Neff began training dogs 30 years ago, when classes to train puppies didn’t exist. Everyone used a force method to train dogs, which didn’t work well for puppies and many adult dogs. She developed the treat-based method that both dogs and people were excited to learn, based upon the Natural Method of Dog Training by Leon Fradley Whitney, a book written in 1963. Her approach has always been about non punitive methods to train both dogs and to solve common and serious behavioral problems.

Should I have My Dog Trained at Home or Professionally?

Most pet owners are not astute on dog behavior and learning, so working with a professional dog trainer provides the immediate guidance they need. The focused method you’ll learn is proven to be successful, and you’ll learn how to effectively communicate what you want your dog to do. Training your dog in a supportive, professional atmosphere will enhance your dog’s trust in you, your relationship with him, and the bond between the two of you.

What Will I Need to Prepare for Dog Training?

To prepare for training class with Pet Behavior Associates, bring the following:

  • 6-foot leash
  • Well-fitting collar
  • Soft, small, easy to swallow treats
  • Toys (will be utilized toward end of course)
  • Owners: wear comfortable shoes & clothing with pockets for treats

How can I Sign Up Pet Behavior Associates Training?

You can enroll by emailing Annette Neff directly at, or by calling 740-965-5061. She is a retired teacher, so children over the age of 8 years old can work in the classes with their dogs, but anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent.
