What Tempting & Tasty Dog Biscuits Can I Delight My Dog With?
Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Treats
We’re guessing that for most dogs, peanut butter and pumpkin treats can’t be beat! Simply combine the following ingredients:
- 2-1/2 cups of whole wheat flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of canned pumpkin
- 2 tablespoons of peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
Once all the ingredients have been added to the bowl, mix, and then roll the dough 1/2″ thick, adding water if needed. Cut out 1/2″ biscuits, before baking in a 350-degree oven for 40 minutes.
Simple Dog Biscuits
Like the name indicates, these simple biscuits couldn’t be any easier to make. First, you’ll want to preheat your oven to 350-degrees. Then, combine these ingredients:
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- Approximately 1/3 cup of water
Add water to the dough if you need to. Then, use a rolling pin to flatten the dough, so it’s ¼” thick. Cut the dough into biscuits and then bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned on the bottom.
Oats Dog Treats
These oat based treats are so easy to make! Begin by preheating your oven to 325-degrees. While it’s heating, combine the following ingredients, reserving the 1/2 cup of rolled oats:
- 2 cups + 1/2 cup of rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup of unsalted low-fat beef or chicken broth
Once your ingredients are combined, add the remaining 1/2 cup of rolled oats. Then, move the dough to wax paper and knead it for about 3 minutes before letting it stand for 3 minutes while it firms up. Once the dough’s slightly firmer, press it until it’s about 1/2-inch thick before cutting it into treats. Then, bake the treats for about 20 minutes.
Apple Carrot Dog Biscuits
While these apple carrot dog biscuits are the most labor-intensive, they might just be the tastiest too. We haven’t eaten them ourselves, so we can’t confirm … but the ingredients sure do sound good! To make them, you’ll need the following items:
- 2-1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar (optional if your dog doesn’t like sugar)
- 1 apple, cored and grated (leave peel on)
- 1/2 cup carrots, peeled and grated
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4-1/2 cup water (note: the apples add moisture, so only add extra water if necessary)
Once you have everything in place, preheat the oven to 350-degrees. Then, mix the flour, oats, and brown sugar in one bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the oil, water, apples, and carrots with the beaten egg. After you’ve finished, combine the dry and wet ingredients, mixing them both completely together.
Now your dough’s ready to be rolled. Roll it out flat enough to make about 20-24 small dog biscuits. Then cut out the biscuits and pop them in the oven for 40-45 minutes. That’s it! Although this recipe is a bit labor-intensive, we suspect your dog will love these biscuits.
