Debs Dog Training- Obedience and Agility

Deb FrankDeb Frankss began dog training in Columbus Ohio in 1977 and since that time she has earned numerous obedience and agility titles with her own dogs.   Her Jack Russell Terriers and Border Collies have been nationally ranked.   Deb describes her training philosophy as follows:

My training methods are based on canine behavior. The owner’s relationship with their dog needs to be one of respect and leadership. Your dog looks to you for guidance and direction. Becoming pack leader with your dog is critical to your training. My goal for my students is to have a confident, happy working dog that responds on the first command.”

Deb is currently training puppy pre-school, foundation obedience, advanced obedience, and beginning agility.  Private training sessions can be arranged.  For more information on classes and all of out dog training services in Columbus, Ohio go to www.debsdogtraining.com

Her graduate work at the Ohio State University had its emphasis in human and animal learning, animal behavior, and comparative psychology. She completed a three-year internship in an animal behavioral clinic under the direction of David Tuber, PhD. She brings a unique combination of experience and education to the dog training and behavioral consultation field.

Annette was the first trainer in the area to offer puppy classes and to train dogs using positive reinforcement. Annette has earned multiple AKC titles on several different breeds in obedience, rally, conformation, agility, and earthdog. Annette has also written several articles and offers seminars and workshops on dog training and behavior.

FUNdamental Dog behavior training is a combined beginners’ course in dog training and behavioral management. Annette specifically developed the FUNdamental behavior training course for dogs and puppies with the needs of pet owners in mind. You will learn how to train your dog to obey basic commands, like heel, sit, down, come, and stay, and, more importantly, how to use these commands in daily situations so that you have better control over your dog. You’ll learn to teach your dog to be calmer and more manageable and to solve behavior problems, like jumping up, running off, destroying property, stealing objects, and pulling. The methods taught in the FUNdamental behavior training classes are designed to modify your dog’s behavior through the use of positive reinforcement and are based upon current knowledge of dog behavior, learning and motivation.

Learn how to effectively communicate to your dog and motivate him to please you by tapping into his natural desires to play and obtain affection, praise and rewards. Above all training using these methods are FUN and more effective than those relying on correction or intimidation.

Annette is also available to provide behavior consultations, home visits for dogs attending class, private and in-home training. You can learn more about Pet Behavior Associates at petbehaviorassociates.com.
